Modern bedroom interior styles sometimes resemble the atmosphere of corporate institutions, offices. In fact, this impression is rather misleading. With a rather austere look, hi-tech beds are very comfortable, functional, and the design of such a room has a restrained look.

The main features of the style

Perhaps the décor of a high-tech bedroom does not look as homely as in a Provence or country room. However, the laconic hi-tech personality is very expressive and beautiful. Distinctive features of style:

• the shape of the furniture is as simple as possible. Strict geometry of objects gives the bedroom an extraordinary look;
• multifunctionality of furniture pleasantly surprises: built-in appliances make rest convenient, comfortable;
• thanks to unusual accessories, materials and details, the interior of the room takes on a fantastic look. The legs of the bed can be in the form of runners, stands, the berth can have a solid base;
• in the manufacture of the bed base, fabric, leather, veneer, metal are used as finishing materials;
• lighting is not made out by central lamps. Multiple built-in lamps create diffused lighting in the room;
• the interior is dominated by "industrial" materials: glass, concrete, plastic, metal;
• the predominant color scheme is shades of white, black, gray, metallic. As accessories use black and white photographs, prints.

Pure high-tech can cause a feeling of coldness and estrangement. This style is best suited for energetic, confident people who attach great importance to practicality and functionality. As a rule, a hi-tech bed is made of different materials. Some furniture details are responsible for the reliability of the design, while others create an attractive appearance and serve as decor. When creating beds often use several materials.

Metal

The beds can be made of steel and aluminum. When choosing a product, it is important to keep in mind the fundamental difference in materials:

• steel beds are very stable, but they can hardly be moved (especially large double);
• aluminum models are lightweight but cost more than steel counterparts.

Furniture made from cold rolled steel is inexpensive. Beds made from bent and painted metal rods are somewhat more expensive. The surface of metal elements can be either shiny (chrome) or matte.

Wood boards

MDF, particleboard, fiberboard are increasingly used for the manufacture of modern furniture. The main raw materials for wood-based panels: chips, fibers or wood flour. Veneer layers or a laminated coating give a decorative look to the plates. Modern technologies make it possible to reliably isolate special substances, resins used in production.

The main advantage of materials: hollow structures (boxes) weigh a little and lower the price of products, the decorative surface of the plates can imitate the texture of any wood. Due to the light weight of the plates, beds are created with long headboards and hinged shelves, drawers.

Upholstery Coatings

Leather, textiles are often used as upholstery materials for models of the catwalk type (without legs). The main advantages of materials: strength, aesthetic exclusive appearance. On a bed with a leather headboard, it is convenient to read, leaning back. It’s easy to care for the coatings - just wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

Significant disadvantages of leather coatings: bedding slips off, pets can scratch it, the high cost of natural materials. Therefore, the best choice would be a bed in which only the base is covered with leather or textile, and the mattress is laid on top. A great option is beds with a soft headboard, which wears removable textile upholstery. Such covers are easily erased, and if desired, you can sew a new cover from a material of a different shade or quality.

Extravagant hi-tech bed models can even have glass or plastic headboards. The most interesting items are those that combine several materials: a wooden or leather base and chrome-plated metal supports, wooden legs or a headboard and a brushed metal base.

Original Design Models

Manufacturers of furniture in a modern style for fans of innovative solutions offer interesting models of furniture:

• a round bed is equipped with a special rotation mechanism. Thanks to him, it is easy to turn the bed so that it is convenient to watch TV or watch the weather. The berth is equipped with orthopedic mattresses and can be of different diameters (at least 2 m). For a comfortable stay, there are small shelves near the head of the bed. For lovers of watching TV while sitting, manufacturers offer soft overhead elements in the shape of the head, which are easily removed and worn;
• the box-shaped model creates a feeling of calm and estrangement. The design of the box can be called a canopy quite conditionally, because the presence of a surround sound system and a video projector makes this bed more likely a separate ultra technical room;
• the bed looks like a capsule from science fiction films. Streamlined and simple forms simply attract to lie down. Thanks to the speaker system with a player and dim soft backlight, the rest becomes pleasant and comfortable;
• beds with a suspended design look non-standard. Such models seem unusually light due to the soaring effect. To enhance the visual weightlessness of the bed, structures are equipped with hidden lighting. LED strips are fixed at the bottom of the structure and placed around the perimeter of the base;
• for young parents, fans of high-tech solutions, a children's bed has been developed, which looks like a rectangular transparent container mounted on a special stand. Such cribs are equipped with removable glass panels, an infrared heating device. Thanks to a special pillow with integrated sensors, parents can monitor the heartbeat of the newborn;
• a real luxury item was the “flying” bed. Thanks to special magnetic fields, the sleeping bed literally soars in the air. Of course, sleep on such furniture is better for owners of strong nerves. However, designers cannot be denied creativity and originality of thinking.

Today it’s even hard to imagine the beds of the future, because even modern models of hi-tech beds do not cease to amaze with extraordinary forms and technical filling.

Modern features

High tech is considered a relatively new style, but it has already gained a lot of fans. Beds are very popular due to their ultra-modern look, comfort and functionality:

• furniture with adjustable headboards will be appreciated by people with spinal problems. Comfortable conditions for watching TV or reading are easily created thanks to a correctly selected back angle;
• a transforming bed is a real godsend for small apartments. Such models can perform several functions (bed-sofa, bed-chest of drawers, bed-table) and fit perfectly into the interior of high-tech style;
• Air Lift base is formed by rectangular spring elements. During a person’s rest, the structure evenly distributes the load and forms an ideal body position. In the daytime, when no one is sleeping on the bed, the protruding parts of the base gently lift the mattress, ensuring its ventilation;
• the illumination integrated in the head of the bed creates a cozy twilight in the room. Lighting power is enough for comfortable reading books or browsing magazines before bedtime;
• on some models, bedside tables or small shelves are attached to the wide headboard. These additional furniture items have no legs and seem to soar in the air. Similar models of a berth allow to save the room area without loss of comfort;
• thanks to the pneumatic lifting mechanism, it is convenient and easy to use the built-in storage systems;
• at the foot of some beds there is a built-in LCD TV and DVD player, which extend completely silently. You can control the equipment thanks to a special remote control. For comfortable use of furniture, all wires are hidden in the base of the bed.

Increasingly, the hi-tech style began to amaze not so much with laconicism and rigor, as with unusual design decisions. Sometimes the bed looks so fantastic that it is not always possible to immediately understand its functionality and convenience.
